Michael is a native of Mobile, Alabama and a graduate of the University of South Alabama. He joined the Mobile Police Department in 2010 where he spent the majority of his years as a detective in the Financial Crimes unit. Michael also served as a task force officer for the United States Secret Service where he investigated financial crimes which rose to the level of federal prosecution. Additionally, he was an Alabama Police Officer Standards and Training certified instructor in identity theft and cyber-crimes.

In 2017, Michael joined the United States Postal Inspection Service and moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he spent four years investigating post office robberies, identity theft, and mail theft. In 2021, he transferred back to Mobile, Alabama where he primarily investigates mail theft, identity theft, and other fraud related crimes.
