Lenwood Brooks V, a seasoned public policy veteran and former senior executive at a federal financial regulatory agency, joined the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas in 2023 as its Director and Vice President of Government and Industry Relations.
Prior to his current role, Brooks held the position of Chief of Staff at the National Credit Union Administration under Chairman Rodney E. Hood. The NCUA, responsible for chartering and insuring credit unions across the United States, oversees a system that safeguards more than $2 trillion in assets. In his role, Brooks was responsible for managing an annual budget exceeding $350 million and leading a workforce of about 1,200 full-time staff members.
Before his tenure at the NCUA, Brooks was a Vice President at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, Washington’s leading trade association for Wall Street, where he led teams in developing and implementing comprehensive external affairs and media relations strategies to support efficient capital markets.
Brooks’ professional journey commenced on Capitol Hill, where he served under then-Congressman and now Senator Roger F. Wicker. As a key member of the team, Brooks served as a senior advisor to Senator Wicker, with a focus on the period when the Senator was on the Senate Banking Committee.
Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, Lenwood is a graduate of Ole Miss. He currently resides in Fort Worth, Texas.
